Widows of Wildcat Ridge, Book One

In the wake of losing her father and husband in a devastating mine disaster, Priscilla Heartsel faces a dire future of poverty and eviction. Meanwhile, Braxton Gamble finds himself unwittingly embroiled in a botched bank robbery. In a desperate move to prevent the gang from obtaining the stolen loot, he seizes the money and flees, suffering a gunshot wound in the process. Weak and wounded, he stumbles upon what seems to be an abandoned town, seeking refuge in an empty house, where he loses consciousness.

Priscilla returns home to an unexpected and startling discovery – an injured stranger occupying her bed. With a sense of duty, she takes it upon herself to nurse him back to health so he can leave, unaware of the stolen cash hidden in the house. However, when she finally discloses the presence of the stolen money to the local marshal, both the lawman and the money mysteriously vanish, leaving Priscilla and Braxton in a perilous predicament.

As tensions rise, the very gang responsible for the robbery appears, demanding the stolen loot, and they’re willing to resort to violence to get it. The marshal, too, is willing to kill to keep the money’s whereabouts a secret. In the face of mounting danger, Priscilla and Braxton must find a way to survive long enough to unravel their complex dilemma, all the while discovering a love more precious than the stolen gold.

This sweet romance weaves a gripping narrative of love, danger, and redemption, where Priscilla and Braxton must defy both ruthless criminals and a shadowy marshal to secure their future together.
