Lula Mae

Love Train, Book Four

Lula May Rivers’ mission to reach Cheyenne, Wyoming and retrieve her niece hits a roadblock when she’s left penniless after a robbery. Desperate and determined, she dons the disguise of a young boy, adopting the name Lou, and sneaks into the baggage car of a train bound for Cheyenne.

Fate takes an unexpected turn when Lou’s presence is discovered, but U.S. Marshal Gannon Calloway, anticipating a robbery, offers her refuge aboard the train. Gannon recognizes Lou’s unique skill with a whip and enlists her help. Little does he know that their journey will take a perilous twist when he learns that a dangerous killer he once helped put behind bars has escaped and is on a relentless path to Cheyenne. The convict seeks vengeance against a female witness he blames for his imprisonment.

As the tension escalates, Gannon faces a stunning revelation: Lou, the boy he’s come to rely on, is, in fact, a captivating woman. And the witness the escaped convict is determined to eliminate is none other than Lou herself. Now, forced to work together, they must race against time to catch the vengeful convict. Along the way, they may discover that love can unexpectedly blossom, even in the face of the most unlikely circumstances.

This story weaves a tale of danger, secrets, and unexpected romance, as Gannon and Lou come to realize that sometimes, the heart has plans of its own, regardless of one’s best intentions.
