Cadence

The Widows of WIldcat Ridge, Book Thirteen

A foolish mistake left Cadence Biggler and her little sister Regina at the mercy of strangers in a strange town—until Mortimer Crane stepped in, paid her bills and offered her a job as a maid at his Gentlemen Only Salon in Wildcat Ridge, Utah Territory. Soon, she realizes Crane wants more from her than her labor. More than she’s willing to give. Since the salon is no place for a child, he takes Regina to stay with a family then refuses to tell Cady where the little girl is. Garrick Brant became a traveling photographer to make a living and search for his missing sister July. He’s drawn to Cady the first time he sees her, but Mortimer Crane orders his thugs to keep him away from her. How can Garrick and Cady’s romance develop under such restrictions? Can Garrick help Cady find Regina and free her from Crane’s clutches? Can Cady help him find his sister July? One thing is certain, they’ll have to fight Mortimer Crane every inch of the way.

What Readers are Saying

* * * * * Superb! “This is an excellent western historical! The plot is very well crafted and intriguing. The characters are quite unique and entertaining. Great concept and thoroughly enjoyable!” ~ Meri Overstreet

* * * * * Really enjoyed this one. “Charlene Raddon is a master at writing romance. I’ve always enjoyed her books, and this new one is no exception. Cady is searching for her five year old sister, who was taken away by the town bully. Along comes the hero, Garrick, who is also searching for his sister as well. Of course, you can guess that the two will get together, and each knows where the lost sister is, but it takes them awhile to put it together.” ~ Tina Foster

* * * * * great series “I have read all the books so far in the series The Widows of Wildcat Ridge, this book so far was the best because although all of the women have had very strong personalities, Cadence stood up to Mortimer Crane, and refused to back down, she gave everyone courage because of her strength. I would highly recommend this series.” ~ great series

* * * * * Great story! “Cadence made a mistake, she trusted the wrong man. Now she’s stuck in a brothel because the owner took her little sister. Garrick is looking for his sister too. When they meet each other they are attracted but her boss Mortimer Crane does everything to separate them. Can these two, with the help from others, find both sisters and the love they deserve? I really enjoyed this story. In a setting like this you don’t expect that the people can be one big family but the author brings them all together. Can’t wait to read more books in this series. I received this book from the author, this review is my honest opinion.” ~ Nethanja Koenen

* * * * * Excellent novel in an unforgettable series “I really enjoyed this story about a girl who tries to sober up the man she loves, Duncan Moon turns to drink after his wife leaves him. Thalia has always loved Dinky Moon, but he never notices. Of course, she eventually succeeds, but that’s the nature of romance, the journey they take to get there.” ~ Tina Foster

* * * * * Terrific characters! ““Cadence” is a beautifully orchestrated romance that intricately weaves several stories together to produce a priceless tome of love and triumph. Superb characters immediately come to life and blossom as the story unfolds. Cadence, “Cady”, a woman down on her luck, manages to be strong against all odds. Handsome, persistent, and values her opinions, Garrick Brant, the hero, is everything she could ever want. He is also unafraid of Mortimer Crane, her employer, who is determined to take Cady as his lover, even against her will. The “soiled doves” in the story all have their individual traits and there is no mistaking one for the other. The mountainside is picturesque and its people, welcoming. A fast paced story easily relished and finished in a day leaving time to enjoy one of many of the other stories in this delightfully wonderful series.” Belinda Wilson
